Overview

ScreenCam is a native screen recording and editing app for macOS and Windows. The app is designed to process recordings locally on your device. ScreenCam may make network requests for app functionality such as Apple App Store or Microsoft Store license status and, when you choose to enable it, optional anonymous usage analytics. We do not use advertising trackers in the app.

Recordings and local files

Screen recordings, camera video, microphone audio, system audio, cursor data, exported videos, workspace files, and custom wallpaper files stay on your device or in locations you choose. ScreenCam does not upload this content to ScreenCam servers.

Anonymous usage analytics

ScreenCam may ask whether you want to share anonymous usage analytics to help us understand which recording and editing features work well. You can turn analytics sharing on or off at any time in the app. If analytics sharing is disabled, ScreenCam does not send usage analytics.

Analytics are limited to product usage, diagnostics, and performance information, such as feature interactions, app version, operating system version, and general device information. We never collect screen content, audio, camera video, project files, file names, or typed text through analytics.

Permissions

ScreenCam may ask your operating system for screen recording, microphone, camera, and file access permissions. These permissions are used only to provide recording, editing, exporting, and user-selected file features. You can manage these permissions in system settings.

Purchases

ScreenCam purchases are processed by Apple through the Mac App Store or by Microsoft through the Microsoft Store. ScreenCam reads license status from the relevant store so the app can verify access. ScreenCam does not receive or store your payment card details.

Website

When you visit thescreen.cam, our hosting and infrastructure providers may process standard server log data such as IP address, browser user agent, request URL, and request time for security, diagnostics, and delivery of the website. The website does not use advertising trackers.
